Show Clark Johnson Gubler Receives Degree 'At U. of C. June 23 LaVERKIN, Utah Graduating with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Phi-losophy at the University of California, Cali-fornia, June 23, was Clark Johnson John-son Gubler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gubler of LaVerkin. Graduating in the field of biochemistry, bio-chemistry, he submitted as his thesis a dissertation titled "The Effects of Certain Inorganic Salts on the Dissociation of Carboxy-hemoglobin." Carboxy-hemoglobin." He was one of six to receive the Ph.D. degree at the University, and on June 10, preceding pre-ceding his graduation, was initiated initi-ated a full member of the National Nation-al Scientific Honorary Society, Sigma X. Born in 1913, Dr. Gubler had j his grade schooling in LaVerkin, : graduated from Dixie Junior Col-! Col-! lege, received his A. B. at the j Brigham Young University in ,1939, and his M.S. at the Utah I State Agricultural College in 1941, ' having served as a teaching assistant as-sistant in chemistry. Since 1941 he has attended the University of California, where he was a teaching teach-ing assistant in biochemistry. He is now employed at present as research re-search chemist for Eldorado Oil Works of Oakland, Calif. |
