That the 1945 Covered Wagon Days eelebra- tkm was put over successfully by the St. George stake M I A. is evidenced in the above picture, showing the large circle of wagons, hand carts, v and people assembled on the city ball park for L": I the evening program. -'-'m i A realistic event of the program was the ar- rival of the Indians, and they were real Indians. Just as the pioneers were making camp, James Yellow jacket, Dan Bullets Fred Bulh-ts and Will Kogers, four natives from the Shevwit Reservation, Res-ervation, galloped into the circle, yelling and brandishing their weapons. The campers showed real alarm, as this was a surprise attack, and the white men shouldered their muskets and drove the intruders away. |
