Show County Turkey Growers Make California Tour A desirj to see the turkey production pro-duction business under operation in other areas took eight Washington Wash-ington County men on an excursion excur-sion through California last week, reports Fred G. Gloeson, operator of the Gloeson Poultry Processing plant in St. George. Making the trip besides Mr. Gloeson were Walter Cannon, Charles R. Sullivan and Joseph Thompson of St. George; Bill and Ervil Sanders, Wayne Wilson and Roland Webb of LaVerkin. They returned Friday, July 27, having visited turkey farms from San Fernando Valley in thy south to as far north as Santa Rosa. As a side trip they visited one tomato packing plant. The chief purpose of this trip was to visit farms and plants of prominent turkey producers and growers and learn first-hand their methods of management and feeding feed-ing of breeder hens, the production produc-tion of eggs and raising of turkeys tur-keys for the market. Several very progressive farmers were visited, reports Mr. Gloeson, and the Dixie Turkey Growers feel that they obtained some very profitable profit-able points for future production. |
