Show LaVERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Church havei received word that their son, Karl, who is on Luzon, was recently re-cently advanced to the rating of Sergeant. He has also been made president of the L D S Branch M I A in that district. He feels this is a fine opportunity and says he appreciates the appointment. Along with his military work he is attending army school, although he is unable to state the line of work he is covering. Mrs. Pauline Wilson is visiting in Salt Lake City this week. Mrs. Grace Stout was honored with a party last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Powell Stratton. A large group of relatives rela-tives attended. Mrs. Stout has been visiting in LaVerkin for several sev-eral weeks. Warren Church joined Max Thorley of Cedar City to spend this week in Salt Lake City visiting visit-ing and on business. Mrs. Eugene Henroid and her daughters, Mrs. Serge Glade and Mrs. Bill Smith and Mrs. Palmer Cundick, all of Salt Lake City, entertained en-tertained at the Henroid home on Monday afternoon at a kitchen shower honoring Mrs. Robert Warren, the former Pearl Webb, youngest daughter of Mrs. Henroid. Hen-roid. Many lovely gifts were received. re-ceived. Mrs. Warren and Mrs. Smith returned recently from visiting vis-iting relatives in Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Cundick came to get their son, Gilbert, who has been visiting visit-ing his grandmother, Mrs. Henroid. Bill Sanders. Ervil Sanders, Roland Ro-land Webb and Wayne Wilson joined other turkey growers of Washington County last week for a tour of turkey hatcheries, cold storage plants and vegetable gardens gar-dens in various parts of California. Cali-fornia. They report a very profitable profit-able trip. Mr. and Mrs. William Hardy have purchased the Dale Stock home and are remodeling preparatory prepa-ratory to moving in. |
