Show Hurricane South Ward Holds Annual Ward Conference Sunday HURRICANE, Utah The Hurricane Hur-ricane South ward held their annual ann-ual ward conference Sunday, July 29, with the entire stake presidency, presi-dency, 10 of the high council, and most of the stake officers otherwise other-wise in attendance. Support of General, stake and ward authorities authori-ties was the theme of the conference. con-ference. A business session was held at 9 a.m., followed by a priesthood meeting at 10 a.m. and simultaneously simulta-neously a meeting for the stake and ward officers of the relief society, primary and Y L M I A. The general session and regular sacrament meeting was held at 8:30 p.m. with Pres. Elmer Graff presiding and Counselor LaFell Iverson conducting the program. During this meeting Lafayette Staheli was released with a vote of thanks for his services as second sec-ond counselor to Bishop Carrol Heaton, Leo Reeve being called to fill this position, with Gardner Haywood as first counselor. Paul Thurston was sustained as president of the Y M M I A with I. H. Bradshaw and Wayne Hin-ton Hin-ton as counselors. Lafayette Staheli Sta-heli was chosen as head of the music department of the stake with Owen F. Burgner as chorister choris-ter and Mrs. Flora Reber as organist. or-ganist. Brief talks were made by several members, called by Pres. Iverson. These included Sgt. June Cox who is home on furlough after aft-er extended battlefront service in Europe. |
