Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton (AUNT MIX A) Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bradshaw of Cedar City spent Thursday here with Mr. and Mrs. William E. Woodbury who returned to Cedar City with them. The Ladies Literary club met at Verda Woodbury's home last Wednesday and quilted a quilt while Mrs. Ellen Wittwer reviewed review-ed the book, "A Chicken Every Sunday." Mrs. Susie Campbell has returned return-ed from Salt Lake City where she has spent the past two months visiting with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Campbell. Mrs. Margaret Nut tie, Vanita Wright and Carol Tobler entertained enter-tained at a Friendship shower for Donna Sandberg last Saturday evening. Mrs. Jene Hinton entertained the "The Forty Plus" club at her home last Friday afternoon. Grant Woodbury has returned from Los Angeles where he has been on business. Mrs. Norris Brown, the former Maude Wood of Kanab has come to stay with her mother, Mrs. Anna Wood. Her husband is in the armed services. Miss Edith Johnson, who is employed em-ployed at San Jose, Calif., spent the week end home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Johnson. John-son. The Lions club held their regular reg-ular meeting Monday 'evening at Dixie Guest Home. They are sponsoring a move to establish an air landing field on East Bench Lake flat. Mrs. Chloe Beatty is visiting in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Mrs. James Bowler, the former Miss Barbara Beatty. She is working as a long distance telephone tele-phone operator while her husband is overseas. Mrs. Jack Leavitt, the former Darine Beatty has gone to Long Beach, Calif, to visit with her husband, Jack Leavitt S 2c, who is being shipped overseas soon. The American Legion Stirling Russell Post No. 100 went to Springdale Sunday to conduct a military memorial service for Pfc. Vance Justit. Wilden Tweedie of Las Vegas visited over the week end with his mother, Mrs. Frank Reber. Mr. and Mrs. David Teeples have had the pleasure of having most all of his children visit them during the last week. Pvt. and Mrs. Clifton Teeples of Oceanside, Calif; Mrs. Cieo Behunin and Mrs. Rose Cook of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Teeples of Bicknell, Utah; Karl Teeples of Boise, Idaho and Dwendon Teeples of Salt Lake City. The North ward Seventies sponsored spon-sored a dance in the North ward gym on Wednesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Heywood, Mr. and Mrs. Carol Heaton and R. P. Woodbury went to Salt Lake City on business. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Naegle are in Salt Lake City where he will receive medical treatment at the Veteran's hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Vernet Hinton invited a number of friends to their home Sunday evening honoring honor-ing Lt. and Mrs. Clell Covington before their leaving for Santa Monica. Mrs. R.hoda Cannon has returned return-ed from St. George where she has been visiting for some time Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lee attended the funeral in St. George Monday for M. P. Robert K. Burgess. Mrs. Clifford Spendlove and two boys visited over the week end in Greenville with Mrs. Spend-love's Spend-love's parents and her brother, N. G. Murdock. who was home from the South Pacific on a 4-day furlough with his wife and baby. He is on convoy duty. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Dulton and Henry F.mpey visited over Sunday Sun-day at Thomas Eagar's home. Mrs. Dutton is the former Miss Barbara Kagur. The Ladies Pinochle club met on Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Owen Sanders with Mrs. Owen Humphries as co-hostess. co-hostess. Prizes went to Mrs. Milo Stanworth and Mrs. S. R. Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reber have returned from their trip through parts of Arizona and California. They visiter! his brother, Alvin Reber at Mesa, Arizona and also a brother, Lyman Reber at Culver City, Calif. On their return homo they visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilden Tweedie at Las Vegas. Mrs. Lillian Roundy received word from her son, Jessie K. Roundy that he was promoted to SClc on February 1. He is on Guam Island. Mr. and Mrs. John Tobler have gone to Moulder City to visit some of their children there. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Johnson received word from their son, TSgt. P.yron Johnson that he is somewhere in the Philippines. |
