Show Army Reports Carlyle Wilson Alive-Not Missing Sorrow was changed to joy for Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wilson of Hurricane Wednesday, when they received a telephone message saying say-ing their son, Pvt. Carlyle Wilson, serving in the African area is well and safe. This message followed closely upon the heels of a previous previ-ous notification from the Secretary Secre-tary of War that their son was "Missing in Action", in the African Afri-can area since Nov. 9, and was believed to be among the dead. Carlyle was born July 28, 1913. He enlisted in the Army late in June of 1940, being assigned to Company 'E 7th Infantry at Ft. Ord, Calif., and from there to Camp Pickett, Va., for three months' training before he went overseas. The last letter received by his parents was written Nov. 2, stating he had arrived at his destination on that day. |
