Show Flying Cadet Is Special Soloist At Center Ward Sacrament Services Special soloist for the Sunday afternoon Sacrament services of the Center ward was Ernest Ritchie, one of the flying cadets now in St. George. He was accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Mae A. Pace and his rendition of "Flee As A Bird", and "O, Rest In the Lord", from the oratorio, Elijah, were excellently done and greatly appreciated. ap-preciated. One other special musical number num-ber was a violin duet, "Estralita" by Miss Dawn Andrus and Austin Gentry, Miss Ha Holt, accompanying. accom-panying. Stake missionaries, assisted by Seminary students, were W. O. Bentley, Milton Hoyt and Thelma Blake. Mr. Bentley expressed belief be-lief that the U. S. has great cause to expect victory in the present conflict, and said those who have served as L. D. S. missionaries going go-ing into the world to preach the Gospel of Christ have a duty equally great in serving their country in this battle for human liberty and brotherhood, which he termed another great mission. Miss Blake and Mr. Hoyt reviewed some of the outstanding Christian religions of the world in support of the advantages of religious education. edu-cation. Harold Hafen, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Hafen, who arrived Suriday morning from his two-year two-year mission to Texas and Louisiana, Louis-iana, also spoke and will make further report of his mission next Sunday in the Center ward. |
