Show Virgin Mrs. Minerva Earl Reporter Those who came here to spend the holidays were Anthony C. Earl from Fort Ord, Calif., Grant Cornelius from Logan, Russell Cornelius from Dixie, Ervin Lee from Sparks, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whitehead from Manti, and Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Scow. Mr. and Mrs. Scow were visited at the home of Mrs. Sarah Spendlove. There have been so many colds during the holidays that the social so-cial events were limited. Mrs. Etta Barney is very ill with pneumonia. Her daughters, Mrs. Alice Gifford of Las Vegas and Mrs. Nelda Leavitt of St. George have gone to be with her. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Matthews have moved to Logandale for the winter to work. Sylvester Earl accompanied them there to visit with friends and relatives for a few days, returning home on Thursday. Alene Earl has gone to Cedar City to work. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Jones spent a day or two at Las Vegas visiting visit-ing their children, Florence and Clifford Jones. B. M. Jones and Henry Cornelius Corn-elius have gone to Salt Lake City on business. Neldon Earl left Monday for Salt Lake City to enlist in the U. S. Army. A farewell social was held for him Sunday night at the ward hall. Elwood Lee accompanied his brother, Erwin, back to Sparks, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. George Matthews and Odessa Matthews went to Pleasant Grove to spend a few days visiting with D. E. Matthews Mat-thews and family. Mr.- and Mrs. Lyman Ruesch of Cedar City are spending a few weeks visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Ruesch. Mr. and Mrs. B. Sorenson of Fairview were visiting here with relatives for a few days. |
