Show Zion Park Stake Holds I First Quarterly Conference of '41 Sunday HURRICANE, Utah. The Zion Park stake met for their first quarterly conference of 1941. which was a priesthood conference. confer-ence. The priesthood meeting was held Saturday evening, accomp-janied accomp-janied by pictures showing the ! progress of the Church Welfare I program. A welfare meeting was held Sunday morning at 8:45. He also told the value of cooperation in the ward welfare committees. At the morning public session of conference, Leo Reeve reported his mission. Harvey Dalton, stake missionary, talked on the fine spirit of stake missionary workers. work-ers. Alvin Allred reviewed the history of the church and its significance sig-nificance to present-day times and to us. Mr. Brown, representing the Church Welfare told the need of everyone following the plan of the church. Antone R. Ivins of the Seventies also talked. The congregation sang several musical numbers and the high school chorus did likewise. At the Afternoon Meeting After the regular reading of the church leaders, Pres. Alvin Engle-stead Engle-stead spoke of prophesies that have been given anfl their significance signifi-cance to the present day and the Mormon people. Wayne Hinton spoke on, "Our Church As A Democracy". Bishop Bringhurst of Toquerville spoke of the importance of teaching the gospel at home. George L. Whitney Whit-ney spoke of the value of the gospel to us in teaching the purpose pur-pose of life. President Claudius Hirschi urged urg-ed the people to store food and clothing for the coming year. Antone R. Ivins based his speech on the priesthood, telling of its value today. Music for this session of conference confer-ence was furnished mainly by the H. H. S. girls' chorus under the direction of Owen F. Burgener. |
