Show News To Publish Arrests Made, Judgment Given In cooperation with law officials of Washington county, the News will publish all cases that are brought before a Justice of Peace or Judge and fines, or judgments rendered. This policy is being established es-tablished at this time because of the fact that it is recognized as news that the public is entitled to and because it is a proven fact that where publicity is given to such arrests, it acts as a deterrent deter-rent on those who might break the law. Sheriff Antone B. Prince reports re-ports that arrests were made on January 7 and the men arraigned before Justice of the Peace George F. Whitehead. All pled guilty and fines were assessed. Those arrested were Ward Wulffenstein and Merlin C. Smith, who were charged with stealing the frame of a car owned by Ruben Larson. They pled guilty and were fined $10 each. Thad Rex Harrold was also arrested and pled guilty to the charge of willfully destroying private property. He was fined $50 and told to replace the property prop-erty that he had damaged. |
