Show Local News Items . . . Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Snow have moved to St. George to spend the summer after living in Hurricane all winter where Mr. Snow is a teacher at the high school. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra C. Thompson and two children motored down from Cedar City Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Seegmiller Seeg-miller and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Fullerton of Pioche spent the week-end in St. George with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frehner of Littlefied were Sunday guests of Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Harris. A daughter was born to Mr. and Woodrow Seegmiller at Cedar City Thursday, June 22. This is the 60th living great-grandchild of C. W. (Uncle Charley) Seegmiller and of that number the first to bear the Seegmiller name, strange as it may seem Mr. and Mrs. John W. Pace, accompanied by Mrs. Andrew Pace and small daughter, Penny Ray, left Sunday morning for Tuscon, Arizona, where they will attend the" graduation of their son Andrew, An-drew, from the Law School of the Arizona State College. They plan to make an extended coast trip before returning home. Mrs. Alma Evans and small son of Parowan were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Cottam. Mrs. W. Tell Gubler and children are visiting for the week with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gregerson, Mrs. Gubler's parents. Be sure to attend the Music Festival Friday night in the Stake Tabernacle. All funds received to go toward a pipe organ for the Tabernacle. Mrs. Lamond Bowler accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Mabel Burgess motored mo-tored to Caliente over Sunday. Mrs. Bowler's sister, Mrs. Owen Frei, returned with them to visit for several days. Mrs. E. H. Whitney and daughter daugh-ter Beverly, formerly of Long Beach, Calif., are guests of her mother, Mrs. Hannah N. Snow. Mr. Whitney, who is employed with the Inland Carbin Co., has been transferred to New York, stopping over briefly in St. George enruote to the East. Mrs. Snow will accompany Mrs. Whitney as far as Provo, where they will visit for a week with Mrs. Olive S. Reeve and daughter before going go-ing on to New York. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Parsons and two sons, of Grand Junction, Colorado, Colo-rado, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. Jarvis on their way to the coast to spend their vacation. Mrs. O. S. Taylor returned Sunday Sun-day from Salt Lake City where she has been with her daughter Mrs. Harry Russell, who gave birth recently to a baby boy. While absent the month Mrs. Taylor has attended the Idaho funerals of three relatives, including includ-ing that of her brother, Victor Hegsted, father of Mrs. George Wells, formerly of St. George. She brings word that Mrs. Wells is recovering from a broken neck received five weeks ago in a car accident. Mrs. Marcell Schmutz accompanied accom-panied by Miss DeVora Whitehead White-head left this (Thursday) morning morn-ing for Logan where they will attend at-tend the graduation exercises of the U. S. A. C. Among the students stu-dents graduating will be Mrs. Schmutz' son, Irwin, who is receiving re-ceiving his Master's degree and Miss Whitehead's sister, LaVerd Whitehead. Reserve Friday night as the night to attend the Music Festival in the Tabernacle. Music to be presented by the Inglewood Stake. Mrs. Norman Johnson and two little girls left Monday morning for Lehi to visit Mr. Johnson's parents. She was accompanied by Miss Dorothy Bastian. Miss Carma Simmons is visiting relatives and friends in Provo and Salt Lake City. Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Harris left Wednesday afternoon for San Luis Obispo, to visit their son, Parley, who is with the 115th engineers, and who is still ill following an appendectomy. Mrs. Ernest C. Judd and children child-ren of Kanab came in Monday to spend a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Snow. She underwent surgery at the local hospital on Monday, May 26. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Blake and family left today (Thursday) for North Hollywood, California where they will attend the marriage of Mrs. Blake's brother, Ralph Harris Har-ris to Miss Ruth Goss. John Sturzenegger of St. George announces the engagement of his daughter, Barbara, to Nick Nova-kovich Nova-kovich of Ely. Nevada. The marriage mar-riage is to take place at Ely sometime some-time in June, but a definite date has not been set yet. They plan to make their home in Ely. Mrs. Nettie Mifflin underwent surpcry on May 27. Mr. "and Mrs. W. O. Bentley of this city and their son Richard Rent ley and wife, of Denver, left Sunday for a tour of the Pacific northwest. They were accompanied accompan-ied as fur north as Salt Lake City by Miss Mona Cox, who has .crone to take three months of beauty schooling with the Ex-cel-cis company with whom she won a scholarship recently. |
