Show Cedar City Elks To Present Flag Program Here On June 14 At the suggestion of local members mem-bers and with the approval of Mayor D. C. Watson, the Elks Lodge No. 1556, of Cedar City will present an elaborate Flag Day ceremony and program at the City Park, Saturday, June 14, at 8 p. m. Special lighting is being provided, the Elks will bring their full equipment including also the Cedar City high school band which won top honors recently at Ogden. Plans are also to have one of the local bands participate in the program. pro-gram. Included will be a brief history of the Flag and its meaning, the correct honor due the flag, the proper portrayal of the Flag on all occasions, along with special emphasis on the meaning of the American Flag today. Provisions is made for the building build-ing of a program platform and people may either occupy the grandstand seats or drive into the park with their cars to view this program. It has been presented for the past three years at Cedar City before hundreds of onlookers and Dr. L. W. McGregor expresses ex-presses a belief that the performance perform-ance in St. George will draw an even greater assembly than has previously witnessed the program. People are urged to keep this program pro-gram in mind in their plans for the celebration of Flag Day, on June 14. |
