Show TO CONDUCT RED CROSS SW1MMIXG SCHOOL AT ST. GEORGE CCC CAJU' Duriing the month of August a Red Cross Swimming school will be conducted for the purpose pur-pose of training two members of each CCC company in the Fort Douglas district, in the fine arts of life-saving and swimming supervision. Monday evening try-outs try-outs were held under the supervision sup-ervision of Swimming Instructor, Instruc-tor, Jim Rajsich, to determine the two winners that would be sent by convoy to Fort Douglas. Lawrence Leake and Benjamin Bishop were the lucky fellows to qualify to attend the swimming swim-ming school. The fellows who tried out for the swimming school camp representatives were: Bill Centers, Raleigh Shepard, Charlie Charl-ie Johnson, Benjamin Bishop, Lawrence Leake, Harold Howard, How-ard, and Fanso Adkins. Captain Fred Klenk was paid a very pleasant visit by his brother's bro-ther's family, Sunday, July 2 6. Mr. Klenk in company with his wife and children are touring the northwest. Captain Earl Jackson, former commanding officer of Company 2558 and now Inspector for the Fort Douglas district, stopped into our camp for a brief, visit Mr. W. T. Morris and his wife returned Monday evening from the Grand Canyon where they went to visit their two sons who are employed at the Canyon. While there Mr. Morris had the opportunity of going into the bottom of the Grand Canyon and examined it miutejly from Ji geological phase. Mr. Morris is the conductor of the St. George CCC glee club. |
