At the present time the city is almost carried away with the flies, although there is some improvement im-provement over the days when the hord decended on this city. Attention is directed by board members to the fact that unless something is done to eliminate these swarms of flies there will be no pleasure ifor the crowds of people who are expected to attend the Homecoming celebration. celebra-tion. Citizens are urged to do everything possible to rid the community of these disease carrying car-rying pests. With the rains coming com-ing on and the heaviest fruit season just ahead, it will take continuous co-operation to get rid of them. In speaking of the danger ot the flies, Mrs. Roxey Romney, City Councilman has the following follow-ing to say: "We all know the danger of the fly, the filth it carries and the diseases they breed. We know also that the best way to be rid of them is to have no places for them to reproduce in. To clean up then is the first and important thing and to kill the fly is the second. For every fly that we kill now will save ourselves and others the trouble of millions later. The fly is our worst pest, there is no secuity or comfort with them around. Let's all work to get rid of the fly." |
