Show ! MECHANIC ARTS BUILDING TO BE STARTED AUG. 1 Junior engineer Oden of the WPA office at Cedar City was a visitor at the Dixie college Tues-i Tues-i day. Arrangements were made with President Smith and local WPA officials to start the construction con-struction of the new Mechanic Arts building at the college on. August 21. Charles N. Merkley, instructor in shop work, will act as superintendent of construction, construc-tion, and a local man will be appointed ap-pointed as foreman. The printing of the college catalogue will be completed this week, the work being done by the Washington County News. Catalogues will be available at the college office on Monday, August 3. Distribution will be made as soon as possible after that date. The Dixie college is responsible responsi-ble for one of the programs at the Blackhawk encampment at Cedar City next week. The program pro-gram is under the direction of Earl J. Bleak. Mathew Jtf, Bentley, registrar and instructor at the college returned re-turned from Ptovo Thursday. He attended summer school during the first term at B. Y. U. Students are beginning to make inquiry concerning housing for the winter. All patrons of St. George who have one or more rooms to rent, should report immediately to the college authorities. auth-orities. Patrons who desire students stu-dents to board and room should also make their wants known at the college. Requests have come from out of town girls who desire to work in homes for their room and board. Women desiring dependable de-pendable girls to work in their homes should get in touch with President Smith. |
