Show Andrew A. Anderson Honored At Services Here Sunday Evening Funeral services for Andrew A. Anderson, who died Saturday at 4:20 P. M. following a short illness, were held in the Stake Tabernacle at 5:00 Sunday evening under the direction of Bishop Harold S. Snow, of the South Ward. A quartette under the direction of William T. Morris Jr. sang, "Come Unto Me". The opening prayer was offered by George Brooks, Jr. A vocal solo was rendered by Mrs. William T. Morris. Richard McAllister, an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple was the first speaker. He told of the affection the people of the temple had for Andrew Anderson and of the fine qualities of character charac-ter he possed. Bishop Snow told of the work Mr. Anderson had done in the ward the past winter, especially in genealogical, mutual and other activities ac-tivities and of his willingness to be of service. He expressed the appreciation he and others felt for him. His conversion to the Gospel and the sacrifice he had made that his children might fill missions and obtain good educations, were told by Bishop Snow. Vocal solo, "There is a Land" by Melba Baker. Closing Prayer by A 1 d o 1 p h Whitehead. Interment was made in the city cemetary the grave being dedicated by Joseph Leavitt. Andrew Anderson was born September 29, 1861 in Denmark and spent his boyhood here. He came to America when 24 years of age and made his home in Spring City, Utah with his brother, here he heard the gospel and joined the church. He later moved to Salem, Idaho where he met Mary Hansen to whom he was married in the Manti Temple in 1894. He was active in church work and was a good homemaker and provider for his family. His two children Andrew M. Andersen of Ogden and Mrs. John McKnight of Lewiston had all that it was possible pos-sible for their parents to give them. Mrs. Anderson died ten years ago and Mr. Andersen came to St. George a year ago to spend the remainder of his life working in the temple. His son came to his bedside on Thursday and was with him at the time of his death; His daughter was unable to come. |
