Show Tourist Flock To Southern Utah Scenic Attractions Southern Utah Recreation Area Studied As Guide For Others Throughout State of Utah Holiday time meant tourist tir.:e to southern Ltah. ihousanos took advantage of the two-day holiday to view the scnic wonders of this section. In addition to this mountain moun-tain resorts report great influx of the people of this section who took advantage of the holidays to go fishing and camping and thereby get away from the heat of lower sections. Practically every mountain resort re-sort in this section reported "one of the biggest days in its history". A big crowd attended the celebration celebra-tion held at Oak Grove under the auspices of the Leeds Relief society. At Pine Valley practically every camp was taken with fair catches being reported by most of the fishermen. Many people from Nevada took advantage of the "chance to cool off ' as well as the people from Southern Utah. Camps in the Cedar Mountain area also report large groups of campers and fishermen. Forest officials declare that the Oak Grove and Pine Valley districts dis-tricts are being studied by men throughout the state as two of the finest recreation districts in the state. The work done by the CCC enrollees under the direction of the forest service is coming in for high recommendation. Need Better Road The great need, so far as Washington Wash-ington County is concerned, is a better road into the Pine Valley area. Citizens who travelled over this road proclaim the need for the proposed route up Snow's Canyon. They point out that this would enable en-able the people of this county to take advantage of the Pine Valley recreation area oftener if a decent road were available. They also point to the need of this road as a means of providing good transportation transpor-tation facilities for the town of Veyo, Gunlock, Central and Enterprise. Enter-prise. Hot Weather Reported Hot weather was reported at the mountain resorts until the rain storm came along to cool all of Southern Utah. These storms broke an extended dry hot spell and gave relief to this southern section of the state. |
