Show . County Publishes 1938 Financial Statement; Citizens Urged To Read It Appearing on page three of this issue of the News is the financial finan-cial statement of Washington county. The publication of this statement is required by law and is made by the commissioners so that the citizens of the county may know what money is received receiv-ed and how it is spent. A careful study should be made of this statement by every citizen of the county so that they may be familiar with how much money is received, how it is spent, and some of the problems that the commissioners have to face. In a county where there is such a limited amount of money for the necessary functions of the county government, the commissioners are often criticized justly or unjustly, for the way they spend or don't spend the county's money.
