Show Manomas Andrus Camp Holds Nov. Meet Thursday The Manomas Andrus camp of the D. U. P. held their November meeting last Thursday afternoon at the home of member Zaidee W. Miles, with Annie M. Whipple, Mary J. Bunker and Marvel Pendleton as co-hostesses. The lesson on "Early Pioneers from the British Isles" and their several contributions to Utah's commonwealth, was given by Mrs. Seth Harper. Many of those mentioned men-tioned included the stalwarts who settled Dixie, and who were prominent in the early trades and avocations that lent cultural and development to this section. This was followed by two vocal solos, "Ireland", and "Annie Laurie" by Miss Roene Bigler, who was her own accompanist. Life sketches of Jane Marlowe, who died the day previous, and of Elizabeth Vaughan Hunt, who was 91 that day, concluded the progress which was followed by a Thanksgiving luncheon. |
