Show Miss Shirley Simmons Is Harvest Ball Queen After hours of waiting, with however, how-ever, no indication of impatience, Miss Shirley Simmons, charming j brunnette daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Simmons was crowned crown-ed harvest queen of the F. F. A. at their ball Tuesday evening. Voting continued up to 10:30 p. m., and the final count gave Miss Simmons the day's honors. Gowned in an old-fashioned model of blue taffeta, Miss Simmons Sim-mons made a lovely picture as she marched on the arm of Jay Huntsman, F. F. A. club president, preceded by Miss Misha Seegmiller Seegmil-ler who wore pale pink embroidered embroid-ered net over satin and carried the coveted crown, and followed by Miss Alice Thompson, Miss Ora Sandberg and Miss Delna Farnsworth, gowned in Nile green, peach and teal blue respectively. The other male escorts were Guy Bowler, Harvey Savage, Lewis Holt and Wendell Tobler. Miss Ella Sorenson, another contestant was ill and unable to participate. Following the crowning ceremony cere-mony dancing was resumed and a number of prizes including apple cider, a fine Thanksgiving turkey, candy, cakes and farm products were awarded for spot dances. A large crowd attended and instructor instruc-tor Wayne Hinton as well as the class officers agreed this harvest dance was gratifying from every angle. They thank all who participated par-ticipated for helping to make the evening one to be long remembered. remem-bered. Keith Ross and his orchestra orches-tra furnished the music. |
