Show Mesquite, Hev. Mrs. D. L. Eeber Reporter Wesley Hughes left Friday for the mission home in Salt Lake City. He was accompanied by Dee Hughes and Orange Barnum. The stake presidency attended the ward conference held here Sunday at which a new Bishopric was put in. Those chosen were Max Hafen, bishop, Orval Abbott and Mark Hardy as counselors, and Ira Reber as secretary. Those released were Howard Pulsipher, bishop, Aschel Barnum and Leonard Leon-ard Reber, counselors and J. Alfred Al-fred Tobler as secretary. Brady Walker and Owen Hughes, who are attending the B. Y. U. are home for the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving holidays. The P.-T. A. was organized last Friday evening with Melva Leavitt Leav-itt as president, Naoma Fordham, vice president and Vera Waite as secretary. During Education Week, the parents were invited to visit the schools. On Thursday and Friday Fri-day about 75 parents visited the different classes, and many were served hot lunches along with the children at noon. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bowler of Gunlock visited here Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Max Hafen. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Frehner and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hughes have gone to Alabama to visit with Mrs. Frehner's and Mrs. Hughes parents. They plan to spend about a month there. |
