Show Boston Trio First Number On Dixie Fine Arts Program, December 7 The Afternoon of the First Day Will Feature B.C. Professors In Talks And Musical Numbers The Boston Young Artists Trio, a group of talented musicians, will present the first evening program of the Dixie fine arts festival, which will be held on December-7, December-7, 8. and 9. This group includes William Douglas, violinist; Leigh Elder, cellist; and Lu Dean Rogers pianist. The members of the trio are all graduates of the New-England New-England conservatory of music in Boston, Mass. The afternoon program on the first day of the festival will feature fea-ture William Manning and Roy Halverson, of the B.A.C. at Cedar City. Professor Manning win speak on vocal training, and the results of a recent research In this field. He gave a similiar discussion at the U.E.A. convention at Salt Lake City this fall, and all who heard it declared it was an outstanding out-standing presentation. Professor Halverson, who is rated rat-ed one of the best violinist In the-state, the-state, will play several selections during the program. Other appropriate ap-propriate numbers have been outlined out-lined for the two-hour assembly-Afternoon assembly-Afternoon and evening programs have also been arranged for Thursday Thurs-day and Friday, December 8 and 9. This- three-day festival is sponsored spon-sored by the Dixie junior college-and college-and the civic organizations of St George. Its purpose is to develop' a greater appreciation for the fine arts music, literature and pictorial pic-torial art. The Boston Young Artists trier will present the following program-on program-on December 7: "Trio in D. minor"' Arensky; "Apes un Reve", Fraure Casale; "Elfintaug", Popper; "Gypsy "Gyp-sy Aire", Sarasate; "Passacaglia", Randel-Halverson ; "La Gitalin", Kriesler; "Sea Nocturne", Evelve; "Bolero", Arbos. |
