Show m - COMMITTEE TO STUDY TAXES IS APPOINTED The first collective, systematic step for a complete analysis of Utah's system sys-tem of taxation and administration, was planned lato Friday afternoon at a meeting of the Utah Taxpayers' Association As-sociation in their offices in the Kearns building. According to A. P. Bigelow, state chairman of the association, the facta as obtained by the investigation will be placed before the public. To conduct the analysis a special committee was appointed by Mr. Bigelow Bige-low as follows: A. G. Mackenzie, secretary sec-retary of the Utah chapter of the American Mining Congress; Ephraim Bergeson, president the Utah state farm bureau; and O. W. Adams, representing rep-resenting the Utah Bankers' association. associa-tion. The course of procedure to be followed fol-lowed in disseminating the facts will be as follows: "To assemble and study the constitutional and statutory provisions pro-visions dealing with taxation in Utah. "To investigate the methods employed em-ployed in the several taxing units in the state in administering the tax system. sys-tem. "To call to the assistance of the committee com-mittee such men as are reputed to have information on the subject under discussion. "To obtain information on the tax laws and the results obtained therefrom there-from in states comparable to Utah. "To present to the general committee commit-tee of the assocation the facts as received re-ceived and with the approval of this committee to publish these facts for the information of the taxpayers of the state." |
