Show DIXIE COLLEGE NOTES The gym is all ready for that swell promanade. Have you seen it? No. Well come and see it tomorrow night. You will like the old fashioned flower garden, the colored lights and the splendid dance music. Girls' day on April 20th will doubtless doubt-less be the biggest one in the history of the college. Besides the poem and story contest an athletic meet will be held, which will include the following follow-ing events: Posture parade, stunts, and folk dances, running broad jump, high jump, 50 yard dash, four girl 200 yard relay, and hurdles. A five dollar prize will be awarded the winner of the last five events and a ten dollar prize will be given to the outside school winning in the parade. There will also be a girls' baseball game between be-tween the high school and one of the outside schools Eleven other schools have been invited to join the Dixie College in these events. Miss Maude R. Snow a former instructor in-structor in our Dixie College was a visitor at school on Wednesday. She gave a very nice talk to the student stu-dent body in assembly. The college girls gym class and their instructor Miss Vera Harmon enjoyed a weinie roast up on the "D" last Thursday morning. Saturday the 4th year class gave a dance at Washington. Transportation was free and a large number of our students and townspeople went over. On Wednesday night of last week the dramatic art class under the direction dir-ection of Ella H. Perkins presented a play "The Return.of the Goblins." It was both exciting and humorous and was enjoyed by all. President Joseph Bentley of the Juarez Stake and Superintendent Meacham of the accadamy at Juarez, Mexico, were speakers in ' our devotional de-votional exercises last Thursday. Their talks were timely and very much enjoyed. |
