Show MOAPA VALLEY SCOUTS HOLD COURT OF HONOR Boy Scout troops from Bunkerville, Logandale, St. Thomas and Overton assembled in the auditorium of the Moapa valley high school at Overton last Saturday night to attend the first complete court of honor held in that part of the country for a long ime. An attempt is being made to get Scouting on a firm basis so the meeting meet-ing was open to the citizens of the valley. Chief Scout Executive John A. Young of the Zion National Park Council together with Arthur Morris, the commissioner of the Z. N. P. C, attended the meeting. The ccfurt of honor comprised John A. Young, Arthur Morris, Edwin G. Wells, Joseph I. Earl, William Witt-wer, Witt-wer, Robert Gibson, A. R. Leavitt, S. A. Lyman, A. L. Kelly and Grant B. Snow. About 30 scouts were up for advancement from the various troops. The honors ranged from tenderfoot badges to merit badges and senior patrol pa-trol leaders badges. The crowning event of the evening was the awarding to Scout Bruce J. Lyman of the Logandale troop a gold medal for heroism displayed in the saving of the lives of three small boys. Las Vegas Age. |
