Show LEEDS Leeds, April 3. A new 600 foot ca-arrived ca-arrived at the Silver Reef mines Lt week. They intend sinking the Cobb shaft 150 feet deeper, and are in h0pes of finding rich ore on the lower levels. Friday evening the Sunday school entertained at a dance for the purpose of raising funds to pay for their lesson les-son leaflets and to send one of the classes to the Union meeting this month. In addition to the tickets they sold ice cream and cake. There were a number of out-of-town people present. pres-ent. All in all the evening was a big success. Mrs. Benjamin Swapp came m last week from Kanab and spent a few days. Mr- Swapp went back with her. He expects to be away some time. Mr and Mrs. Bill McMullin were 11 visitors Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton E. Moody spent the week end here. Forest Supervisor Olsen was in town on business Monday. We are very glad to hear that Mrs. Oscar McMullin is much improved, proved. The Misses Addie Sorenson and Max-ine Max-ine Olsen spent the week end here visiting Miss Olsen's parents. Rex Stirling is remodeling his home. They expect to move into it in the very near future. Mrs. Will Sullivan and daughter, Maurine of Hurricane were in town Sunday. Albert Anderson was a business visitor vis-itor here Saturday. Mrs. Joseph Lee of St. George is spending some time here visiting her brother, David Stirling. William Hartman who lost a finger at the Silver Reef mine some time ago is again able to work. Charles Wright has just completed his new stucco garage. Dr. and Mrs. Parley Harris and family spent Sunday in town visiting relatives. |
