Show ASK INCREASED ROAD MONEY A bill introduced in congress by Representative Bobison of Kentucky Ken-tucky proposes the appropriation of $250,000,000 for rural highways and post roads and an additional $20,000,000 for forest roads and trails. The appropriation asked is largely in excess of previous measures. meas-ures. Highway construction during dur-ing the next few years will dwarf all efforts in this line so far undertaken un-dertaken by the government. With such vast sums likely to be appropriated, the effort to secure se-cure apportionment to specific routes or districts will naturally lead to strenuous attempts by the different communities for their individual highways. Organization by counties of a nature that will assure the assembling of facts regarding re-garding actual and potential resources re-sources will be presented to the bureau of public roads for consideration con-sideration when routes are to be determined, will aid materially in assuring location to best serve sectional sec-tional needs. |
