Show THOUSANDS OF UTAHNS TO LOSE BONUS UNLESS THEY APPLY BEFORE DEC. 31ST December 31 of this year is the last day in which filings may be made for adjusted compensation, commonly known as the soldiers' bonus, yet a number of ex-soldiers estimated at several thousand, thou-sand, residing in this state have not yet applied, according to Dr. L. J. Paul, regional manager of the United States veterans' bureau, bu-reau, in charge of Utah. If the veterans themselves died during or after the war without applying for the bonus, their widows, wid-ows, mothers and fathers are eli- gible, providing application is made before January 1. All honorably discharged reter-ans reter-ans of the world war are entitled to the bonus which is in the form of a 20-year endowment insurance insur-ance policy. In case the veteran died without with-out making application, his widow, wid-ow, mother or father will get the full amount of the bonus, only of course if filing is made within with-in the alloted time. |
