Show : LIVESTOCK MEN ! HOLD MEETING 1 A livestock meeting was held in the ' public school house Wednesday night March 21st for the purpose of dis-cussins dis-cussins range problems on the public domain. Mayor David Hirsch acted as chairman. John M. Macfarlane of the State ; Cattle and Horse Association spoke of controlling the public domain similiar ' to tire forest reserve. Mx. Macfarlane was sent out by his department for the purpose of getting the opinion of the livestock men in controlling the range. It was suggested that we should have a brand inspector for the Hurricane district as it was reported that some beef stock had been stolen and sold. Mr. Macfarlane appointed Marion Stout for brand inspector. All hides and also cattle about to be slaughtered must be inspected and tagged before they are sold. The question was asked why we were having tubercular cattle now and we didn't have a few years ago. Mr. Macfarlane Mac-farlane stated that the native cattle are free from tubercular germs unless they are infected by cattle shipped here from the east. |
