Show St. George Garners First Play-off Game; Cedar Here Sunday It looked like a walk-away when St. George went out and scored 7 runs in the first inning of the game with Cedar City at Cedar last Sunday, but Cedar wouldn't accept defeat that easily and kept pegging away until they tied tho score in the 5th innings with a 6 run rally and then took the lead in the 6th when they scored 2 runs. However, St. George made 3 in the Sth and 1 in the 9th to win the game by the score of 13 to 12. Ad Anderson pitched a good game for Cedar, with the exception excep-tion of the 1st and 8th innings. Part of his trouble in those two was poor support. A home run by him in the 6th helped considerably con-siderably in bringing his team out of the hole they were in and up on an even basis with St. George. Reed Wilson and Ed Lund both had good strike out records for the innings they were on the mound but each had trouble ( with putting the ball over the , plate and got themselves into trouble by handing out walks. Wilson struck out 6, Lund fanned fan-ned 7, while Anderson, for Ce-only Ce-only fanned 4. Credit for the victory goes to E. The Price-St George game was the best that local fans have seen in many a year and yet Price played a very Poor game when they went to ,JUdging U on this is they believe that a faster brand of ball will be played here next Sunday. The largest crowd to see a eame in the South Western Utah league turned out to view the game last Sunday. St. George had a good representation as did Beaver, La Verkin and Hurricane. Hurri-cane. R is to be hoped that St. George can draw as large an audience this week. Attention is called to the fact that season ticket and passes will not be good at this game. Funds secured in this play-off series will be used to send the boys to Salt Lake to the tournament, tourna-ment, if they win the right toi represent the league.
