Show BUNKERVILLE BUNKERVILLE, Oct. 22. Quite an excitement was caused last Saturday Satur-day when a straw stack belonging to Thomas Leavitt Sr. caught on fire. It was discovered by Harmon Tobler, who was passing. The alarm was given and men, women and boys all rushed with buckets and tubs to assist as-sist in putting out the fire. It was with some difficulty that it jras finally fin-ally extinguished. Big hay stacks and a threshing machine were nearby. Mrs. Elzina Robison and family of Kanosh are here for the winter. They are moving into the vacant house belonging be-longing to Lawrence Leavitt. Stake priesthood meeting was held at Mesquite last Sunday. No sacrament sacra-ment meeting was held here. Many stake officers from the Muddy valley were in attendance. Several men and boys were out ieer hunting last week, but not many deer were brought in. Senator Key Pittman gave a talk in the assembly at high school last Wlednesday. Another carload of hogs is being shipped from here and the Moapa valley. Albert Wittwer of Overton is gathering gath-ering a carload of cattle to ship to Los Angeles. Miss Daisy Leavitt spent the week end at St. George visiting her sister, Miss Eva. |
