He reports great activity in the Signal Hill oil fields. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shirts returned Tuesday from Los Angeles.. Cal.. where they scent the past few weeks visitir.g. Their son Kenneth left here Monday for Los Angeles, to spend Christmas holidays with them, and they doubtless doubt-less passed each other on the way. Alter twenty-three years' service to the people of St. George. John R. Wal-lis. Wal-lis. editor of the Washington County News, has turned the helm of his paper pap-er over to younger hands, and will retire re-tire to his farm near La Verkin. The News is one of the neatest and best edited papers in Southern Utah, and the new leasee of the plant has accepted accept-ed no small task in maintaining the standard set by his predecessor.
