Show DIXIE PLAYS IN OGDEN TONIGHT Will Clash With Ricks at 7:30 in Opening Game of the Junior College Tournament Coach Leland Hafen arid eight members of his college basketball squad left Tuesday noon for Ogden to participate in the junior college tournament which starts today. The players who went on the trip are: Blake, Taylor, Hafen, Stratton, Wilson, Wil-son, Wittwer, McAllister and Gubler. Arthur Paxman accompanied the party having been invited to officiate at the tournament. The pairings for the first day's games include Dixie vs. Ricks College tonight at 7:30 o'clock, B. A. C. vs. L. Several features, designed to "get Cedar's goat", were put on before the game. The girls' pep squad presented a pretty spectacle and won the applause ap-plause of the crowd as they circled the gym before taking up their position po-sition at the south end of building where they out-yelled the opposition in no uncertain manner. Dixie missed two set-ups at the start of Friday's game. Foul pitches and baskets by Yardley and Gillins accounted for 6 points in the first quarter, while Dixie gathered 4 on a basket by . Stratton and fouls by Blake and Hafen. Cedar counted three goals in rapid succession at the start of the second quarter and ran their score to 18 at the half. Dixie counted 8 points in this period for a total of 12 at the halfway mark. At the end of the third period the score read 25 to 16 for Cedar. After Gillins, B. A. C. star forward had looped in an easy one at the start of the final period, Dixie staged a desperate rally which came within two points of tying the score. Wilson, Taylor and Stratton scored scor-ed ; Blake counted one on a foul, and the score read 23 to 27 for B. A. C. Yardley made two points, and Wilson and Blake each got a basket. Blake, although ill and under a doctor's doc-tor's care, played a steady game for Dixie. Stratton and Taylor were outstanding out-standing for Dixie, while Gillins and Yardley, B. A. C. won Saturday night's contest con-test by a score of 34 to 25. The game was closely contested. At the quarter the teams were tied at 9, at the half a 16, while beginning with the third period the Branch aggregation gradually drew away from the locals.
