Show SILVER REEF SHAFT DOWN. 541 FEET The three-compartment shaft of the Silver Reef Mines Company, which is being sunk on the white reef, is now down to a depth of 541 feet. Two stations are being cut, one on the 460 foot level and one at 420 feet, from drifting operations will be pushed. A pump station has been cut at 298 feet and a Triplex pump installed. This shaft cross-cut the continuation continua-tion of the Buckeye reef at a depth of 396 feet and passed out of the member at a depth of 465 feet. A cage is now on the ground and is being remodeled, and pipe and track sufficient for 4000 feet of drifting drift-ing is now on the property. If the Silver Reef Mines Company, controlled by the American Smelting and Refining Company, opens a sufficient, suf-ficient, tonnage of ore, it will mean a large development project for southern Utah. Three shifts are being worked at the mine, and from 25 to 35 men are employed. C. C. Cushwa is superintendent su-perintendent of operations. |
