Show WASHINGTON ! Washington, Oct. 12. Wednesday night the officers and gleaner girls of the Y.-L. M. I. A. pleasantly surprised sur-prised Mrs. Minnie Paxman at her . home. Sister Paxman has been the ' adviser of the gleaner girls for the : past few years and has recently been released from this position. Each 1 guest presented her with a dainty handkerchief. A most enjoyable evening was spent, after which ice . cream and apple pie was served. j Denzil Sproul and Miss Gwenie Nisson, both of this place, were married, mar-ried, October 4th at Parowan. . The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew An-drew Sproul, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Nis- j son, respected residents of this place. I We extend congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Irsrael Neilson, Sr., and son Antone have gone to Salt Lake City and other northern points to spend a short vacation. We had with us in sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday Elders E. B. Snow and John T. Woodbury, Jr. Their visit was greatly enjoyed. A shower was given at the home of Miss Nina Nisson, Monday night for Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Sproul. A good time is reported. Misses Ida Jolley and Sylvia Staheli spent the week end here from Hurricane and Virgin respectively. Mrs. Myrle Adams; who has spent several weeks in Ogden visiting her parents, has returned home. . ... Wilford Stephens is home from the Cedar mountains where he has been working the past summer. The telephone Co. is removing their line from Main street to the street two blocks south. Preston Larson has returned home from points in Idaho, where he has been working. The M. I. A. commenced their winter's win-ter's work last Sunday night. |
