Show UTAH PUBLIC HEALTH ASSN. Preparations for the ninth annual convention of the Utah Public Health Association to be held in Salt Lake City, Thursday, October 21st, at the Hotel Utah, have been completed under un-der the direction of James H. Wallis, executive secretary. Health problems prob-lems of interest to the state, especially espec-ially dealing with tuberculosis, and the need of a state sanatorium for those affected with the disease will be discussed. Through the efforts of the association, associa-tion, the following speakers of national na-tional and international prominence will speak at the meetings: Dr. Valeria Val-eria H. Parker, Director of the Department De-partment of Productive Measures of the American Social Hygiene Association, Assoc-iation, and President of the National Council of Women of the United States, will speak on the subject "Next Steps in Public Health." Dr. Edouard Rist, chief physician of the Tuberculosis Department of the Laennec hospital, Paris, France, who has been in this country attending the meetings of the International Union against Tuberculosis, at Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, will review tire work of the Laennec Tuberculosis hospital. Mr. Arthur J. Strawson, Director of Field Service of the National Tuberculosis Tuber-culosis Association will speak on World-Wide, Nation-Wide and State Tuberculosis Programs. Reports will be made by George D. Keyser. President, E. A. Bering, Treasurer, and James H. Wallis, Executive Ex-ecutive Secretary. The annua! election elec-tion of directors will also take place. The general public is invited and, those who have helped in the sale of Christmas seals are especially urged to attend, as also doctors, dentists, nurses, club women, educators and social workers. |
