Show FIELD DAYS OF LiVESTOCKMEN SET Fl JULY Bi-Annual Outing to Be Featured by Discussion of Phases of Industory, stack Show and Entertainments July 7, S and 9 have been definitely set by a committee consisting of F. J. Bowler, Walter Wal-ter F. Smith and Forest Rangers Ran-gers Jas. Baldwin and Ben Swapp as dates- for the bi-annual field day of the Southern Utah association asso-ciation of Livestockmen, at Pine Valley. The purpose of this field day is to bring together sheep and cattle men of southern Utah, northern Arizona and eastern Nevada ,to have the various problems which confront the livestock industry, farmers and others interested in the natural resources of the region, answered and discussed by men specialized specializ-ed in these lines. Assisting in the event are the extension service ser-vice of Utah and the national forest service. The program, which will be worked out in detail within a short time, will cover every phase of the situation. It is planned plan-ned for the visitors to arrive at the Pine Valley camp ground in time to get camps located and supper over with before the program which will c ommence at 7:30. Musical numbers will be furnished by the Dixie College, and special features will be an address, "The Public Domain", by Director William G. Peterson, and a one-act play, "Fire in th Mountains." The program for July S will consist of talks, community singing, sing-ing, livestock judging contests and other general features-, followed fol-lowed by an old-time fiddlers' dance at night. Continuation of the program will extend to noon July 9. It is planned to have present such men as Director Feterson of the U. S. A. C, Ikler of the Ogden stockyards, Maynard, Taylor Tay-lor and Esplin of the U. S. A. C, Nelson or Stewart of the In-termountain In-termountain Forest and Range Experiment Station, R. Scott Zimmerman of rodent control, biological survey; Newell B. Cook, state game commissioner; J. M. Macfarlane, president of the Utah Cattle and Horso Growers' association; a representative repre-sentative of the Utah Wool growers; members of the regional re-gional forest office, local supervisor super-visor and others. |
