Dawn Lea master of the Toquerville To-querville eighth grade, won the Washington county school district spelling championship here Friday Fri-day by spelling the word "conjugation" "con-jugation" correctly, and also, in . accordance with the rules of the contest spelling correctly the word, "conscious." Desma Hall, second year in the Dixie high school, won the championship in that section of the contest by spelling down entrants en-trants from Hurricane and Enterprise En-terprise high schools. A song contest held in connection, connec-tion, was won by the Washington Washing-ton school, and second place went to the Santa Clara school. The former group was conducted conduct-ed by K. E. Fordham and the latter by Miss Ruth Allen. |
