Show ANOTHER lUG DIG DROWN BROWN from Flaming Gorge This one was caught larch March 9 by Ray Johnson of Provo up the canyon from Cedar Springs Marina The German Brown Drown weighed in at 25 pounds and even though it was snowing at the time it made a good picture County officials meet in Stilt Salt Lake convention All three Uintah County Commissioners will join with more than county officials from Utah in attending the Utah Association of Counties WAC annual conference in Salt Lake City Wednesday Thursday and Friday this week The theme of the conference is Counties on the Move Increasing local responsibilities together with national economic and energy problems require new and greater efforts by counties on behalf of the citizens they serve Conference speakers and participants in workshop sessions will explore ways in which county governments can better respond to these situations THE TILE WIDE range of county responsibilities and services is reflected in the variety of workshop sessions conference participants will attend to share information and ideas Subjects of the workshops range from energy resource planning to improved fiscal procedures to election laws Some of the other topics discussed will be recent state legislation affecting counties national legislative issues of county concern property taxation motor vehicle registration court services prosecutorial and judicial relationships in Utah land title recording peace officer standards and training registration of land surveyors and problems with over change to computers The election of the president officers and board of directors will take place Thursday morning Another highlight of the conference will be the awarding of the outstanding county officials officials of of- award for 1974 The Utah Association of Counties is the only organization in the state wl which ch represents and serves s county government All of Utah's 29 counties belong to the association |
