Show UHS protest Open Letter to the Citizens of Vernal I am writing this open letter to the citizens of Vernal to support some men In your community who I feel have done a fantastic job during the school year and on a protest of a play off basketball game between Spanish Fork High School and Uintah High School Although the Uintah High School team did not win we feel they had a moral justification in bringing the protest before the Region VI Board The purpose of this letter to the editor is to support and identify the thc fine professional way in thich Principal Stan Allen and Coaches George George- Hughes and Ted Taylor conducted themselves during the time of this protest and the professional way these men have held high the standards standards standards stan stan- dards of competitive athletics and the actions of the students at Uintah High School We feel the citizens of Vernal should be proud of these men and what they have accomplished accomplished accomplished ac ac- ac- ac this year We in Utah County feel that Uintah High School is just starting into a golden era of athletics other than the great performances accomplished by the Uintah in the areas of baseball and wrestling We feel that your community should be aware of our feelings as outside observers We would like to wish these men good luck luckin luckin in the future Sincerely JOHN P.
