Deputy Scott has recently returned from a competition at Ely, Nevada, where he was leading the competition in four events. He had to leave after he had completed his exercises, and he does not yet know if anyone was able to overtake his scores. In February of this year Scott competed com-peted in the Las Vegas Metro Police Invitational for Nevada Peace Officers Association Classification. At that same time he placed first in the Golden Spike Invitational at Las Vegas. That competition involved shooters from Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. In April Scott won another first place trophy in the National Peace Officers Of-ficers Association (NPOA) WSI Invitational Invita-tional at Mercury, Nevada. Shooters came from Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah for that meet. At the most recent shoot, at Ely, Scott was given the NPOA Award for Combat Excellence. Scott said this is among the most prized trophies in his crowded trophy case. The Nevada Police Olympics are to be held August 10 and 20 at Las Vegas. This meet is only open to Nevada Peace Officers and through direct invitation in-vitation from the NPOA. Scott received receiv-ed an invitation from the NPOA Pistol Chairman while at the Ely meet. He plans to attend if he can arrange his schedule. |
