Show Qlincs j Norma Damon I Phone 789-13Q2 J Paul Harkers take cruise Mr. and Mrs. Paul Marker recently returned from a 14-day cruise in the Caribbean. They flew to Miami. Fla.. Jan. 14. where they boarded the ship. Royal Odyssey. The Panama cruise included in-cluded several stops at small islands along the route. The 12 days aboard ship came to an end at Acapulco. Mexico where they took a place back to Los Angeles and then home to Vernal. Feb. 11 Sheryl Rasmussen became the first woman in the state of I'tah to complete com-plete the apprentice program for operating engineers. The program includes in-cludes tw o months of classroom instruc tion followed by three and one -half years on the job training. Most of tier job training train-ing has Ixvn with the WAV. Clyde Co. and has Ihtii working at the new xiwer plant. She is now qualified to run heavy equipment equip-ment such as bulldozers, loaders, hai kluH's and etc. Sheryl, 33, has been staying with Robert and Heverly Lee while training in this area. She is originally from Ogiien. Cub Scout Pack 70 from Glines Second Se-cond Ward held their annual Blue and Cold Banquet Feb. 16. The theme of the banquet was Hawaiian. Fishnets and shells decorated the walls, along with original costumes and other articles. Awards were presented to the following scouts: Jason Huff, Bear award; Patrick Wallen, Bobcat Bob-cat award; Larry Rhodes, Matt Nokes and Dustin Bambrough, Webelos activity activi-ty badges and Dustin Bambrough, Webelos badges. Certificates were presented to Vern Anderson, Nena Millecam, LaMar Nokes, JoBeth Turner and Sandy Wallen for their work with the Scouts. The Clubs closed the evening's activities with their presentation of two Polynesian dances. Audie and Kay Williams have a new baby boy born Feb. 16. Calvin J weighed weigh-ed 8 pounds. They have one other boy named Jessie. The grandparents are Robert and Millie Williams and Elmer and Glenda McDowell, all of Vernal. New residents of the area are Eric and Norma Adams with their three children, Jennifer, Rebecca and Heather. They moved here from Provo. Eric is a specialist in solar homes with the Tri Tec Co. He is working here as a construction consultant with Western Sun Realty. Norma is participating in the production of "Man of LaMancha" with the L'tah Extension Service. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harker and family went to Rock Springs Feb. 19 to visit Marie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rosas. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Newman are new residents. He is a mechanical engineer at the DG&T power plant. Lynn and Margaret have five children, Brad, Ly nette, Andrea. Jeff and Michael. They formerly lived in Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Steele with their three sons. Michael, Aaron and Sterling now reside in this area. They moved here from Arizona. Larry had just completed a five year tour of duty with the Air Force w hen he was hired by the law firm Jones, Waldo, Holbrook and McDononugh of Salt Lake City. They sent Larry to their Vernal office. Larry and Linda were raised in Rangley and married while in college. Their parents Robert and Ruby Steele and Earl and Gladys Allred all live in Rangely. |
