Show Xi Alpha Xi Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their second meeting of the month Feb. 21 at the home of Evelyn Slaugh. President Opal Orr presided over the business meeting. Plans were made and discussed for the upcoming bazaar, convention con-vention and social. Two cultural programs were presented. Evelyn Slaugh had the program pro-gram on communications, "Public Relations Rela-tions and the Press." as a guest speaker, Evelyn introduced Janet Wallis, wife of .' Jack Wallis, publisher of the Vernal Express. Ex-press. Janet gave a history of the Vernal Ver-nal Express (formerly the Uintah Papoose), shared items of the newspaper, explained how the paper is printed and how to write a news article. The chapter members took part in a lively live-ly discussion. Communications, "Language and Lifestyle," was the cultural program presented by Helen Foreman. Chapter members participated in a discussion on the proper use of words in our everyday language. Refreshments were served by the hostess. The door prize was won by Pat Searle. The next meeting will be held Monday, March 7 at the home of Margaret Pilcher. |
