Show Lions Club elects officers New officers for the 1983-84 year were elected at the regular meeting of the Vernal Lions Club Wednesday, April 27. President Brad Wallis conducted the meeting and the elections were conducted con-ducted by Art Schaefermeyer and Glade Watkins. Newly elected officers are Glen Anderson, president; Douglas Timothy, first vice president; Keith McDonald, second vice president; Paul Batty, third vice president; Clayton Curtis, secretary; Vard Open-shaw, Open-shaw, treasurer; Don Wardle, tail twister; Glade Watkins, lion tamer; Arben Jolley and Ken Trip, two year directors; Robert Jolley and Keith Barker, hold over directors, and Brad Wallis, immediate past president. They will take office July 1 and will be officially installed the last meeting in June. Dave Haralson gave a report on the broom sales and the club approved the purchase of eyeglasses for two needy children. Glen Anderson, president elect, encouraged en-couraged better attendance at meetings and functions of the club. President Brad Wallis made remarks on how to improve club activity. A special musical number was presented by Kristen Hanchett and accompanied ac-companied by Diane Willard. Guest speaker was Cory Grua of the White River Shale Oil Company who gave a update on the progress of their project south of Bonanza. |
