Show 50 acres offered to district for school site As promised, Clive Sprouse of Nevada Thursday presented in writing to the Uintah Uin-tah School Board a proposal to give the board 50 acres for a high school, elementary elemen-tary and park, but he qualified his offer. "I am proposing to give the District 30 acres for the high school, as well as, 10 acres for an elementary school site and also 10 acres to be used for a park site," said Sprouse in his written offer. The property being offered by Sprouse is any 50 acres of 100 acres he owns on the Maeser-Lapoint highway at about 4500 West. Contingencies to the gift of land offered by Sprouse are that the construction of the high school must begin within two years, and construction of the elementary elemen-tary and park must begin within five years. Sprouse requests a decision from the board within 30 days after which the of- fer is void. At Thursday's school board meeting, Garth Atwood, board member, was told that if the district wanted to only build an elementary school on the sprouse property, pro-perty, Mr. Sprouse would be open to that idea. "He prefers that a high school be build on the site, but the 10 acres for an elementary is still available," Bob Dear-man, Dear-man, Sprouse's associate, told the board. The board said they would have the architect ar-chitect for the new high school evaluate the property as a possible site for a high school or elementary. |
