Show Manila I Clara Robinson I Phone 784-5333 Senior citizens hold card party Manila senior citizens held a card party par-ty at the senior citizens center on Wednesday evening at 7 with 16 people attending. Pinochle was the game played. Bernice East won traveling pinochle and low for the women's. Women's high was won by Fon Slagowski. Howard Iverson won men's high and Rex Youngberg won men's low. Plans are being made for Seinor Citizen Week, May 8-14. Mabel Anderson, director of Center, says to watch the town bulletin board and the stores for notices of activities being held at the Center. Rowdy and Valerie Muir are parents of a daughter born April 21 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The little miss weight 7 pounds 8 ounces at birth and will be names Carly Dawn Muir. Her maternal grandfather is Don Behunin of Burntfork, Wyoming. Her paternal grandparents are Rusty and Louise Muir of Manila, and Lynn Em-mett Em-mett of Jerome, Idaho. Her great grandparents grand-parents are Christine Behunin of Burntfork, Burn-tfork, Wyoming, Bert Harvey of Big Piney, Wyoming, John and Verda Payne of Brigham City, and Zina Runnels of Ogden. Kristee and Marshall Briggs were home this past weekend from Brigham Young University in Provo, for the semester break. They returned Monday for the next quarter. Mrs. James Briggs and son David journeyed to Logan this weekend to take Mrs. Briggs's mother, Mrs. Lillie Gerber home. While there they visited with Mrs. Brigg's brother Robert Gerber and family fami-ly of Smithfield, Utah. The Green River Wyoming LDS Stake Conference will be held in Green River on May 7 and 8. On Wednesday, April 27 the Daggett School District will hold a special budget meeting at 7 p.m. Allan Anderson, formerly of McKin-non, McKin-non, Wyoming and well known in this area, passed away in Denver, Colorado where he has been living. His sister-in-law Francine Anderson attended the funeral. Mrs. Lee (Connie) Reed, Nutritionist at the senior citizen center broke her arm a week ago. Her daughter Mrs. Vicki Stockman has been assisting her at the center. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Reed were in Kanab this weekend to celebrate Cloyd's grandfather, Alvin Croft's 86th birthday. Manila had a new high temperature for 1983 on Sunday, April 24 when the temperature rose to 66 degrees above zero. |
