Show Club attends Founder's Day Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority celebrated the 52nd Anniversary An-niversary of Beta Sigma Phi on Saturday, Satur-day, April 30 with a salad luncheon and program at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Inn. Members of three other sorority chapters of Beta Sigma Phi were present. pre-sent. The theme of 1982-83 was, "The Golden Key to Friendship Unlocks the Door to Your Future." Following the luncheon, a Founder's Day program was led by Sherry Pilcher, city council president and member of Beta Xi. Donna Roberts of Xi Alpha Xi, read a brief history on the highlights of the year. President Opal Orr presented several awards to her outgoing officers of-ficers and introduced the new officers for 1983-84. The Woman of the Year award was presented to Helen Foreman. The Pledge of the Year award was presented to Paulette De Foe. On behalf of Xi Alpha Xi chapter, Gwen Rambo presented a scrapbook and gift to Opal Orr as the outgoing president. Music was provided by Pauletee De Foe, who sang, "My Sister, My Friend", and "Song of Friendship", accompanied by Theta Murray of Preceptor Pi. The Founder's Day program ended with the installation of the new City Council officers for 1983-84. Sherry Williams of Xi Alpha Xi was elected the vice president of City Council. |
