Show FBLA state and region meet results announced In Uintah's best showing ever in State FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) competition, business students placed very high in their respective events held at BYU last Thursday and Friday. Forty-eight high schools were represented in the competition which included individual as well as chapter events. The competition com-petition is always very keen in these events, as Uintah must compete with schools of all sizes including the large Salt Lake area high schools. As a result of the outcome of last week's events, two Uintah students will represent Utah in national competition com-petition to be held in San Francisco in July. Jeanette Wiseman will compete in Office Procedures, and Denise Riding in Accounting II. There they will compete against first-place winners win-ners from the other states. Students involved in the national competition travel at their own expense ex-pense to compete. The following students placed in their respective events: Accounting II: 1st place, Jeanette Wiseman; 2nd place, Denise Riding; 3rd place, Frank Shuman. Office Prodecures: 1st place, Jeanette Wiseman. Business Math II: 2nd place, Frank Shuman. Job Description Manual: 2nd place, Denise Riding. Executive Decision Making: 1st place, Casey Kay and Kathleen Huber. Shorthand I: 5th place, Laurel Herrmann. Job Interview: 2nd place, Keri Bartlett; top ten, Denise Riding. Annua Scrapbook: 2nd place, Aleisha Batty, historian. Public Speaking: top ten, Kathleen Huber. Winning in Accounting II has become a tradition for Uintah. This is the third straight year they have won in Accounting. The last two years the winners have placed fifth and ninth in nationals. There are 10 places awarded award-ed in each area at nationals in which people from all over the Uinted States compete. , In addition to State competition, Uintah participated in the Region 7 Business competition held at Utah Technical College on April 6. The following students placed in Region competition.: Shorthand II: 3rd place, Denise Riding; honorable mention, Lisa Hatch. Shorthand I: 3rd place, Laurel Herrman. Office Procedures: Pro-cedures: 1st place, Denise Riding; 3rd place, Brenda Johnson. Typewriting II 6th place, Denise Riding.
