They were selected from the final play-offs held last week. Youth Orchestra Students of the Month announced Students of the month for the Vernal Youth orchestra were selected last week from the Orchestra I students participating par-ticipating in the final playoffs. These students were: Analeis Calder, daughter of Bill and Kathy Calder, third grader at Ashley Elementary; Rachelle Perry, daughter of Rodney and LaRae Perry, first grader at Maeser Elementary; Elemen-tary; Richard Snyder, son of Dick and Jean Snyder, fourth grader at Discovery Elementary; Jon Eaton, son of Mindy and Cloyd Eaton, second grader at Central Cen-tral Elementary; David Eaton, son of Mindy and Cloyd Eaton, third grader at Central Elementary; and Michelle Lewis, daughter of Nita and Kelly Powell, fourth grader at Naples Elementary. Practice awards were given to Sean Amodt, Orchestra I for practicing 32' 2 hours; Christine Jensen, Orchestra II for 30 hours and Rashell Redden, Orchestra III for practicing 45 1 a hours. The annual fund raiser will be the Silver Tea which will be by donation and will be held on March 26 at 1 p.m. at the home of Frances Emery. This is open to the public and is the only event during the year which helps to finance the activities ac-tivities held during the year. This event will feature most of the students playing solos and some group numbers in which all students will participate. par-ticipate. Light refreshments will be served. On April 8 the Orchestra III students who have attended every practice will go to Logan to perform. This is one of the events that each student looks forward to. April 29 will be the annual music festival. This event will be held all day. Each student will play his or her instrument instru-ment before five adjudicators and given awards and instruction on how to achieve perfection. The awards concert will be held May 20. This is the final reward for all of the work these students have put into the orchestra or-chestra for the past year. It will be open to the public. |
